bare
blue becomes grey becomes green;
misfortune clouds my vision
the unfortunate
circumstance
that is the matter of our
division
boundless thought and
candor still play
between breath and rhyme
misunderstandings and half-truths
plague the way
have stolen fleeting time
o how wicked wicked minds
are vexed
with tales of forgotten
symmetry
there is no mourning for
that which is past...
blue heron
you are but a terrible man
like unto a demon
cold
hard
cast
unyielding in your being
what manner of song
does the stilled heart sing
or at least
hums to
purring
low
gracious times were too
short a turn
exacting cruelty
fills your void.
the dust settles
there is a knot beneath my breast
it writhes when it should bother me
it rises in my throat
so that it may better hear
the dulcet sounds of my misery
the knot is tight
tighter still when i am spent
it is my companion
my prize to keep
with no acceptance
no assent.
the weight of sunlight
twilight has turned;
the waking time.
pale blue to sickly hue
glistening
faded
imitation of remembered
scenes
and waking dreams
memories branch
arch
reach out
climbing through the neglected view
the sum of a life
a hollow reflection
thinking time
when set against
the space between
me
and
you.

It is as if I shall disappear as soon as I close my eyes. I have become someone you would not recognise. It may be a sad thing, this stumble and fall for I chose this path and now there is no return. Drowning, writhing, a horrible lesson learned. Deep inside my mind, twisting, winding, like the blackest worms, this razor’s edge of darkness, the reasons for my failure live and thrive.

Perfection a void, the absence of reality and actuality the paradigm
Of balance – the hollow of emotional entropy; the heart’s apoptosis.
